Hardshore Distilling Company, a fast-growing and award-winning gin distillery in Portland, Maine’s East End, is looking for a few organized and detail-oriented leaders with positive attitudes, passion and strong work ethic for our tasting room. Your primary role is to make life at Hardshore interesting and enjoyable, not only for our guests, but also for all of us. We need you to learn as much about what we do and why, and then share that knowledge with our guests, ensuring they feel welcome, well-served and psyched about all the great things we do to make such a distinctive gin.

Role and Qualifications


  • Creating and serving a diverse array of interesting gin cocktails to our tasting room guests

  • Educating guests about Hardshore’s unique approach to gin-making and distilling

  • Maintaining a professional, clean and welcoming tasting room environment

  • Ordering, evaluating and managing all ingredients and supplies required for smooth tasting room operation

  • Working closely with production team and management

  • Add to the Hardshore team by being a great person to know and work with


  • Experience as a bartender or mixologist an ENORMOUS plus

  • Great story-telling and social media chops another HUGE plus

  • Ability to work late hours, including night and weekend shifts

  • Must be a highly organized project manager with ability to multitask while maintaining high attention to process and detail

  • A self-starter, problem-starter and innovator with the ability to work independently but also within a team as a positive, innovative team player

  • This is a highly physical job and candidate should have the ability to safely lift 40-pound loads

  • Valid Driver’s License and reliable transportation

  • Strong work ethic, positive attitude and willingness to work within a start-up organization that is involved in distilling, marketing and on/off premise sales

  • Able to give tours and enthusiastically receive distillery guests, trade and press

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Demonstrable computer skill set including use of all Microsoft products

  • Must be 21 years of age
